I chose to read because I want to enjoy something I
can't. This could be reading about wars from soldiers or teens that are
demigods and have to fight for their lives. I can only read a book that I like
because otherwise I get bored and stop reading. This creates problems when I
read textbooks that I don't feel are interesting. If I find a book I like I
finish that book in about a day if it is 500 less pages; it becomes my life.
That being said the toughest part for me is finding
a book that I enjoy a lot. But when I do read I read for enjoyment which I
think is the best way to read. To read for education for reading for the fact
that you have to, it just gets boring. You don't get to connect to the
characters if they have them. If you read a book for class you are reading for
a goal and that’s what you focus on instead of the characters and plots. I feel
to enjoy a book the most and get the most out of a book is to rad for enjoyment
so you don’t get distracted and stressed about figurative language and
symbolism.
This website talks about how people who read more
frequently for pleasure have higher tests scores due to the exposure of better
vocabulary which expands. The more you read you also understand feelings and
comprehension in the test questions asked so you obviously will score higher.
This proves that students should also read for enjoyment so they can expand
vocabulary and comprehension which will assist in not only tests but in life
with other people. So ultimately reading for enjoyment is the best way because
it is a win, win; you get to read for happiness and get smarter at the same
time.
Great post! I am really looking forward to keeping up with your blog! :)
